Coquitlam—Port Coquitlam Conservative candidate Katerina Anastasiadis officially launches campaign; commits to representation

August 16, 2021

Port Coquitlam, BC — Katerina Anastasiadis, the Conservative candidate for Coquitlam—Port Coquitlam, officially launched her campaign on Saturday with supporters in the region in advance of the writ drop. She was joined by her campaign co-chairs, former cabinet minister and Member of Parliament, Honourable James Moore and former cabinet minister and Member of the Legislative Assembly Iain Black.

“I am so incredibly humbled and honoured to be joined at my official campaign launch by my friends, family, and supporters. I’m delighted to be here with my special guests and campaign co-chairs, James Moore and Iain Black, both of whom I’ve known for many years,” said Anastasiadis. “Their experience and advice have been invaluable as I embark on campaigning in Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam.”

“I’m proud to stand here next to my former constituent and friend, Katerina,” said Moore, former MP for Port Moody—Westwood—Port Coquitlam. “Her professional and political experience will serve the constituents of Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam well. For too many years now, the Liberals have taken the residents here for granted. Infrastructure has not kept up with the growth of our cities and too many families are struggling — especially during this pandemic. I believe Katerina is the right leader for our riding I’m excited to help get her elected.”

“I have known Katerina for over 15 years and have been impressed by her energy and tenacity,” said Black, former MLA for Port Moody-Coquitlam. “As the former head of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade, I can fully appreciate how Katerina’s serving as Executive Director of the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce has enhanced the values and lessons she learned growing up in a small business family. But, sadly, our small business operators have been left behind by this government at a time when they need support the most. I trust Katerina will be a strong voice for our small businesses and economy here in the Tri-Cities.”

“I want to thank all of the volunteers and supporters who have come out to help me win this riding back for the Conservatives,” concluded Anastasiadis. “I’ve already knocked on hundreds of doors and have heard time and time again from constituents that this riding needs a change in representation. Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam constituents can rest assured that I will work hard to stand up for your priorities in Ottawa. It’s time we choose the right leader and best party to secure our economy and our future for all Canadians. Let’s work together to get this done!”

Election Day will be on Monday, September 20th. Voters can learn more about Katerina at
